Our Priestess in Residence

The Goddess House Priestess in Residence
Frances, the Priestess
in Residenc
Frances has been exploring various forms of spirituality for most of her life and first connected with the concept of the Divine Feminine in the late 1980s through her interest in mythology as well as books such as Spiral Dance by Starhawk and Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.  This connection was strengthened and become more personal when, in 1993 during a Wiccan rite known as "Drawing Down the Moon", the Egyptian Goddess As't (Isis) made Her presence felt.

Since that experience, Frances has continued to strengthen her own relationship with the Divine Feminine - the ancient Matriarch and the Sacred She - with her personal journey including the exploration of the sacred (and often forgotten) lore of the Goddess, as well as personal journeying in order to perceive the feminine aspect of deity.
Already an accomplished ritualist and initiated Wiccan High Priestess, Frances felt that there was a need to establish The Goddess House as a venue through which the ancient teachings of myth, magic and metaphysics could be accessible to all were interested in exploring them.

Rite to Kali Ma
Over the years Frances has led workshops and events that have honoured specific aspects of the Goddess, including:
*an annual beach rite to Yemaya (West Africian Ocean Goddess),
*Embracing the Goddess (an introduction to the concept of the Divine Feminine),
Celtic Queens and Warrior Goddesses (exploring both factual as well as fictional characters),
*Healing with Hathor (exploring the various aspects of the Egyptian Goddess Hathor in order to celebrate her aspects within our own selves),
*Hekate Supper (dedicated to the pre-Greek Goddess of the Three ways),
*Exploring the Magick of Egyptian Goddesses (an introduction to nine Goddesses),
*Homage to Tara and pujas to Kali and Lakshmi,
*Brighid's Sacred Fires of Healing and Transformation (working with the Celtic Goddess (saint) Brighid in order to heal and transform our lives), and
*her ever popular Encountering the Dark Goddess workshop that she has been holding various versions of since 2006.

In addition to this, Frances has hosted Full Moon Gatherings since 2004, as well as having led the opening and closing rituals at the New Zealand Pagan Festival (2003 and 2010), as well as presenting lectures as these events as well as the Australian Wiccan Conference (2009 and 2011), the Australian Goddess Conference (2010 and 2014), the Goddess Gathering (2011), Seven Sisters Festival (2014), and the Goddess Conference Australia (2016).

Over the years, Frances has written and run various other workshops, a list of which can be found here, together with the qualifications she has obtained.

Aside from teaching, Frances is also a prolific writer.  From 2002 and for the following ten years, Frances was a regular contributor to Insight (Australia's No.1 spiritual lifestyle magazine) until its last issue in August 2012.  She is the author of two books, the author of Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats and In Her Sacred Name: Writings on the Divine Feminine, as well as editor/contributor of Call of the God: An Anthology exploring the Divine Masculine within modern Paganism.  Her articles and essays have also appeared in over 25 separate publications, a detailed list of these publications can be found here.

In offering herself as Priestess in Residence of The Goddess House, Frances serves the Goddess in providing a sacred space where, through the sharing of knowledge and experience with others, all women are able to re-connect with this ancient, yet powerful force, and experience that connection on a deeper and more sacred personal level.

Great Goddess Isis

Great Goddess Isis

Exhortation of Isis

You are She in the dust of whose feet is the hosts of Heaven,
Whose body encircles the Universe,
Who turns the Earth in its orb,
Who gives light to the Sun,
Who rules the World.

You tread death underfoot.
To Thee, the stars are responsive,
To Thee the seasons turn and the Gods rejoice
And the elements are in subjugation.

You are She that is the natural Mother of all things,
Mistress and governor of all elements,
The initial progeny of worlds,
Chief of Divine powers,
Queen of Heaven,
Principle of all the Gods celestial and the light of Goddesses.

At Your will are disposed the planets of the air,
The wholesome winds of the seas
And the silences of the unseen world.
