</span><div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Once the energies of this current full moon have subsided, </span><a href="https://isiancentreofmetaphysics.com.au/full-moon-healing-circles/"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Full Moon Meditation and Healing circles</span></a><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> will be held at Port Adelaide commencing from August with a lunar eclipse and the moon being in Aquarius. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The energy of the full moon tends to make us purge and release things from our lives. Therefore it is important that we make sure that we are in control of what we are releasing due to the heightened emotions also experienced around the time of the full moon, otherwise we may regret our decision. Often the full moon is a time when we reap what we sowed at the new moon, for good or for ill. As such we need to be mindful of what we bring into our own lives.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">If you are interested in attending, bookings are essential as there are limited places available. <div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">According to Marina of <a href="http://darkstarastrology.com/lunar-eclipse-august-2017/">Dark Star Astrology</a>, this lunar eclipse will bring up themes of being brave, but in hidden or alternative realms (with the internet coming to mind where people can speak out anonymously). Feelings will be able to be expressed straight away published through this new technology as a form of "therapy".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Another aspect of this forthcoming lunar eclipse next month is that it may make us distrust our gut feelings and as such, we may find ourselves rationalising every problem that comes our way. A consequence of this is that it can lead to health problems if we are not careful and continue to ignore our own body's aches and pains in order to push through and look after someone else who appears to be in more need. The ancient axiom of "Healer Heal Thyself" will be an important mantra during this time.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">More information about the August eclipse by Dark Star Astrology can be </span><a href="http://darkstarastrology.com/lunar-eclipse-august-2017/"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">found here.</span></a><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIFE-l7Hpn8wYbiDqnMkuGQZRuX0_HEEvFUWRydVx7hNUMLIgqBSzSpAdYaNlwYZWQ-j45tas5GJv_CEe9Zs1UjRILgbBFWgzoFj6xwdEOXdUx-bxltgdcLIZlAYzzFXgZCIFAV_o6cT4/s1600/june+moon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="960" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIFE-l7Hpn8wYbiDqnMkuGQZRuX0_HEEvFUWRydVx7hNUMLIgqBSzSpAdYaNlwYZWQ-j45tas5GJv_CEe9Zs1UjRILgbBFWgzoFj6xwdEOXdUx-bxltgdcLIZlAYzzFXgZCIFAV_o6cT4/s320/june+moon.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another aspect of the lunar eclipse that falls on this Aquarian moon is the focus of attention on our relationships. The Sun opposite Moon qualities of emotions and instincts reach their peak at a lunar eclipse, and this enables us to take an objective and balanced look at our close personal relationships. When we are in touch with our own needs and intentions, and those of others, we are able to see more clearly any relationship imbalances that are causing disharmony.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With a lunar eclipse in particular, the blotting out of the moon represents a resetting of emotions, clearing away the emotional baggage of the previous six months. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The August full moon in Aquarius is actually in the <a href="http://astrologyking.com/constellation-capricornus/" title="Capricornus Constellation Stars">Constellation of Capricornus</a>, the sea goat that has great influence over human affairs, which can bring about major changes in such areas as climate and political customs. A lunar eclipse in the “Mansion of Kings” will focus attention on leaders, their rise to power and fall through overthrow or assassination or overthrow. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Kabbalistic Tree of Life is the map of the life journey that each soul has to go through in the incarnational experience in order to reach an enlightened state of consciousness. It is a very important symbol of creation which encompasses the entire meaning of the universe.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Kabbalistic teachings state that the origin of the universe and the world began by God’s creation of the ten sefirot, or emanations, enumerations or characteristics of God.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Everything<i> </i>begins with Kether, the Crown, and moves down the Tree to reach Malkuth, the Kingdom. Each sphere (sephira) corresponds to a Divine name and the unfolding of the Tree of Life illustrates the ways God has designed energy to flow into creation. The Archangels that are related to each of these spheres express that energy throughout the universe and play a specific role in mediating the divine influence via the celestial bodies, the planets and the stars.</div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">I am excited to announced that from the end of March, events will also be held at Port Adelaide as well as the <b><i>Isian Centre of Metaphysics</i></b>. <span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">On this day when families gather, and others remember, and as we journey ever closer to the ending of one calendar year pausing for the new year to commence, I would like to share with you this beautiful poem by Marie Elena Gaspari. In doing so, I would also like to invite you all to dream back your sisters, your feminine line (both biological and spiritual) as an inspiring and beautiful intention for 2017.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This morning I came across an article that talked about the difficulties and challenges experienced between mothers and daughters which are often not openly spoken about. The root of these issues is the "Mother Wound", the "pain of being a woman passed down through generations of women in patriarchal cultures". </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">According to <a href="http://upliftconnect.com/the-mother-wound/">Bethany Webster</a>, the author of this article, our patriarchal, male-dominated culture has conditioned women to think of themselves as “less-than” and not deserving or worthy. When such “less-than” feelings are internalised and passed down unconsciously, they often form "limiting beliefs" about one's own true potential and power. When the daughter does recognise them as such and decides to actualise her own potential, then she does so with the risk of possibly being rejected to some degree by her mother where upon seeing her daughter embracing empowerment may trigger sadness or rage within the mother at having had to give up parts of herself in her own life. </span><span style="font-family: "arial";"></span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Webster continues to point out that the "Mother Wound" exists because in our society there is no safe place for mothers to process their rage about the sacrifices that has been demanded of them. Our society also projects unspoken messages unto mothers, advising them that </span><span style="font-family: "arial";">"natural mothers" find motherhood easy so if you are experiencing difficulties, then you are at fault because as a woman, you are supposed to be "capable of handling it all with ease: having well-behaved children, being sexually attractive, having a successful career, and a solid marriage".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">At the end of the day, we need to be reminded that like ourselves, mothers are also human beings, not super humans. This means that there are some mothers who are simply unloving for various reasons including addiction, mental illness or other struggles they may be enduring. It is only when we acknowledge and accept this uncomfortable reality that we can truly heal the "Mother Wound".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial";"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial";">When we become consciously aware that the beliefs and habits of our mothers form the basis of our own, we can take responsibility of healing the "Mother Wound" by ceasing to "hide behind false masks that hide our pain under a façade of effortlessly holding it together. The pain can then be seen as legitimate, embraced, processed and integrated and ultimately transformed into wisdom and power."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><span style="font-family: "arial";"><br />
Webster advises that when the pain no longer needs to go underground and into shadow, it can then be turned </span><span style="font-family: "arial";">into love. This love is one that "</span><span style="font-family: "arial";">manifests as fierce support of one another and deep self-acceptance, freeing us to be boldly authentic, creative and truly fulfilled".</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Arial;">After reading Webster's article, I reflected back on the relationship I have with my own mother. A rather auspicious time of reflection considering that today is her birthday. Did she feel "less than" for being a mother or had any unresolved anger, suppressed sadness towards what society expected of her? Being my first role model of womanhood, she taught me many invaluable lessons, the most important of all being her generosity and simply being who she is.</span><br />

<span abp="744" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Death. Such a taboo subject in our Western culture yet a subject that really needs to be talked about more openly. <div abp="185" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="186" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The shadows have always been a source of mystery. Often, fear and terror rule the dark places, holding our imagination captive and sometimes paralyzing us with the horror of the unknown. The shadows hold the secret to our own rising rebirth, the secret of the wisdom of ourselves. The ultimate mystery is that of knowing oneself. This is the lesson the Dark Goddess teaches. </span></div>
<div abp="189" style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div abp="190" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="191" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Dark Goddess is the Crone aspect of the Triple Goddess. However She does not always take the form of the older, wiser sage. She can appear as the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. Many associate her powers with the underworld and even evil. But the darkness was not always seen in that way, the way of polarity, black and white, good versus evil. The darkness was just that, the absence of light. The way of the Dark Goddess is the way of the mirror, truth and reflection. She is not the kind and gentle Mother Goddess, who coaxes us to explore our lives. </span></div>
<div abp="192" class="articlebody" style="text-align: justify;">
<div abp="193">
<span abp="194" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div abp="195">
<span abp="196" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span><a name='more'></a><span abp="196" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">She is clarity, like the sword of the Warrior Goddess Morrigan and the sickle of Hecate, cutting away without hesitation all that does not serve. She is the wild and free woman, free from slavery of spirit and body, like the demonized Lilith. She is the bringer of death and destruction, like Kali Ma, who separates us from our illusions and false truth. She is the light in the shadows, Hecate's illuminating lantern. She is what is at the end of our journeys and spiral dances. She is the one who greets us on the other side of this lifetime. </span><br />
<div abp="197">
<span abp="198" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div abp="199">
<span abp="200" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The lessons of the Dark Goddess are plentiful. When one seeks the Dark Maiden, one can learn the freedom that comes from being owned by no one. Persephone may not have been abducted as the legends tells us. Perhaps she was simply seeking to be free from her controlling mother, seeking her own truth and life. The Maiden is the one who teaches us to love and enjoy our sexual sides in a world that seeks to harm this aspect of women. She teaches us to risk and challenge the patterns we have been living, to not be afraid to descend into our own underworld. </span></div>
<div abp="201">
<span abp="202" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div abp="203">
<span abp="204" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> The Dark Mother, while always acting in the best interests of one's higher soul, teaches the lesson of tough love. Kali Ma, with her sword, severs ego and fantasy to allow clearness of mind and spirit. She nourishes our ability to change our self imposed patterns that keep us from enlightenment. She helps us change, but it is never a mild transition. And sometimes we need that more than a gradual quiet transformation. Sometimes we too must rise like the phoenix. She shows us how to make beauty out of our ashes. </span></div>
<div abp="203">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div abp="205">
<span abp="208" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div abp="205">
<span abp="208" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The Dark Crone perhaps embodies the full mystery of the Goddess and of life itself. She is the gate keeper, the end of all desire. Her face, likened to the Dark Moon, is called the true face of the Goddess. In the phase of the Dark Moon, which is looked upon as the symbol of the Goddess herself, we see just the Moon. All other times, we see the Moon in aspect to the relationship She holds with the Sun, always reflecting and translating the Sun's messages to us through Her reflective light. </span></div>
<div abp="209">
<span abp="210" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> </span></div>

<span abp="212" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> We cannot have light without dark. Within the dark, renewal and rebirth are possible. In the dark, all possibilities are available and solutions are revealed. In our shadows, miracles linger and hope awaits us in the form of the Dark Goddess. She is always there for us, strong and unyielding to obstacles in our way. She is who waits when all other methods fail us, when we feel utterly alone, when we have completely lost our way. She is the lamp, the flashlight, the night light guiding us and helping us find our path again. Darkness leads to healing and magick. Darkness is as essential as light.</span></div>
<div abp="213">

<span abp="216" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> When a surgeon is operating on a cancer patient, does she cuddle the tumour and speak gently to it? No, she cuts is out. When an addict attends a rehabilitation clinic, do the facilitators use light to erase the addiction? No, radical removal of the offending substance is necessary along with a hard look and evaluation of a person's lifestyle and attitudes. When in an abusive relationship, whether it be family or a romantic relationship, do therapists encourage you to forgive and love the abuse out? Perhaps that is part of the process, but the first line of defence is usually removing the abused from the abuser and putting extreme boundaries in place, sometimes in the form of restraining orders and prison time. Radical change requires radical measures and often the peace- loving measure of using positive energy to heal or grow is just not the right solution. </span></div>

<span abp="220" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"> Light can be blinding and can keep us from seeing the reality in front of our very own eyes. Love screens out the negative and sometimes you have to see the negative - the negative patterns you create for yourself, the negative relationship that needs to change or end, the negative choices that ultimately are not serving your best interests. </span></div>

She will never fail you. And if you let Her in, you will find treasures long since buried and insights unavailable anywhere else. Let Her guide you and give you courage in the Great Mysteries. I dare you to dance with the dark.</span></div>

<a abp="223" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglwuW8YeaIUJmWCevkKh4Jl6iC760Bf3taabm5BmJRoHu8ZA2QX6wK9J0BOF-C0Sb-9z0lISnBFX4PVNYjK167cVeV2-QHp2Zh2mkcirE7XbgOvJSeML9rpq_i4eTgtokrM1ilf_OS74E/s1600/meditation+rock.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span abp="330" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img abp="331" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglwuW8YeaIUJmWCevkKh4Jl6iC760Bf3taabm5BmJRoHu8ZA2QX6wK9J0BOF-C0Sb-9z0lISnBFX4PVNYjK167cVeV2-QHp2Zh2mkcirE7XbgOvJSeML9rpq_i4eTgtokrM1ilf_OS74E/s320/meditation+rock.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div abp="167" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="332" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In this day and age it is well known how beneficial meditation can be to our mind, body and spirit. It has been proven that meditation can make us happier, improve our concentration, lower our stress levels and blood pressure, and even decrease chronic pain. More importantly however, the practice of meditation brings us inner peace and freedom, two tools that are often overlooked in our over chaotic modern society which we all desperately seek.</span></div>
<div abp="170" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="333" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="334" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Through the regular practice of meditation we find that we need fewer outward distractions to keep us happy. This is because we begin to identify more and more with our inner self as opposed to our physical appearance. This is because meditation is powerful tool for spiritual growth and essentially takes us beyond the limitations (and therefore obsession) of the body as well as the mind.</span></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="384" style="font-family: Arial;"></span><a name='more'></a><br />
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<a abp="345" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnuxlErT3eh0HGRBr4QwIsYjRbVVD1nM_qo0Y75jLXtEvXEJQF12GNgmemZjPoqDHBbFfMiB2AuKuJNMWpYdCnwk6eqG6u84sfg_Ru7QSRQpPykuTazkO3llhMk4FFy9nMUvrwuVm868Q/s1600/aura.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img abp="346" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnuxlErT3eh0HGRBr4QwIsYjRbVVD1nM_qo0Y75jLXtEvXEJQF12GNgmemZjPoqDHBbFfMiB2AuKuJNMWpYdCnwk6eqG6u84sfg_Ru7QSRQpPykuTazkO3llhMk4FFy9nMUvrwuVm868Q/s320/aura.jpg" width="290" /></a><span abp="386" style="font-family: Arial;">Despite there being different "schools" and therefore techniques surrounding meditation, the end goal is the same - for the practitioner to reach the ultimate state of "bliss". This state of "bliss" occurs when the various layers (also referred to as "subtle bodies") that make up the body become completely aligned. Within various metaphysical teachings these bodies include the <strong abp="387">physical</strong> (of which we are most aware), the <strong abp="388">etheric</strong>, the <strong abp="389">emotional</strong> (or astral), the <strong abp="390">mental</strong>, and the <strong abp="391">causal </strong>(or spiritual).</span></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="392" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="335" style="font-family: Arial;">Within Theosophical thought, the <strong abp="393">etheric body</strong> is the body closest to the physical and the one in which is termed as a "vehicle of prana" (or life energy). The <strong abp="394">emotional or astral body</strong> is the vehicle for our desires and emotions, while the <strong abp="395">mental body</strong> is the vehicle of what is termed as the "lower mind", that aspect of ourselves that works mainly in physical reality with facts, reason and logic. Finally, the <strong abp="396">causal body</strong>, which is the vehicle for the "higher mind", that aspect of ourselves connected with intuition, soul and spirit, our higher consciousness.</span></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="397" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">When all five of our bodies are aligned, the life energy, prana, flows freely between them, thus allowing us to experience a heightened state of joyfulness. Such a state is actually extremely natural however for many of us it appears somewhat overwhelming due to the fact that our subtle bodies are rarely completely aligned on a regular basis.</span></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;">In order to be able to live our potential, we need to create a balance. We are, after all, spiritual beings living within a physical form. Meditation is one technique that has been proven to enable the alignment of our subtle bodies and thus enabling a more enriching balance between the "lower mind" and the "higher mind" that we can then use to benefit those around us.</span></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="398" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a abp="399" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeTkfwy3HtNogZnrp4b2R4zMfBdLkQ7XERxWJ_Gful87kPlkHUWNXkYZFWfgiXzKtaZKruUWkTZWzGvcunCMaO5HqiCV6SotIYbg0RHdVZY53xjZXEzhFz6U64Axfghf3iCYOM3S-VnLg/s1600/Monday+Night+Meditation.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img abp="400" border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeTkfwy3HtNogZnrp4b2R4zMfBdLkQ7XERxWJ_Gful87kPlkHUWNXkYZFWfgiXzKtaZKruUWkTZWzGvcunCMaO5HqiCV6SotIYbg0RHdVZY53xjZXEzhFz6U64Axfghf3iCYOM3S-VnLg/s320/Monday+Night+Meditation.jpg" width="317" /></a></div>
<div abp="171" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="401" style="font-family: Arial;"><strong abp="402"><em abp="403">Monday Night Meditations</em></strong> offer a great way to achieve this, allowing you to feel focused in the "here and now" and centred at the start of each working week. Taking place at <strong abp="404">The Goddess House</strong> every Monday evening (except for public holidays) the primary objective of these open meditation classes is to allow the attendee to develop and perfect the sacred art of meditation that will enable the alignment of their subtle bodies and therefore allowing the experience a heightened state of joyfulness to occur.</span></div>

Whether we realise it or not, this relationship sets the stage for all the other relationships that we will have. Or so is the view of Bronwyn McNutty, the author of the article from which the following excerpt has been taken.</span></div>

<span abp="1137" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1136" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1137" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For better or for worse, what does our relationship with our mother say about us? How has this relationship impacted upon the future relationships we form? No relationship is perfect or indeed easy. Drew Barrymore, Megan Ryan and Britney Spears have all had very public bust-ups with their own mothers. Yet that bond with the first person of our gender can have a much deeper and lasting impact on us than we may actually realise.</span></div>

<div abp="1136" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1137" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The relationship between a woman and her mother is so powerful, it affects everything from her health and self-esteem to all her other relationships, experts say. Dr Christiane Northrup, author of the book <em abp="1138">Mother-Daughter Wisdom</em> (Hay House), says: "The mother-daughter relationship is the most powerful bond in the world, for better or for worse. It sets the stage for all other relationships."</span></div>
<div abp="1139" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1140" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1141" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1142" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Dr Northrup says that no other childhood experience is as compelling as a young girl's relationship with her mother. "Each of us takes in at a cellular level how our mother feels about being female, what she believes about her body, how she takes care of her health, and what she believes is possible in life."</span></div>
<div abp="1143" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1144" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1145" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1146" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Jennie Hannan, executive general manager of services at counselling provider Anglicare WA, agrees. "How a woman sees herself, how she is in her adult relationships with partners, and how she mothers her own children, is profoundly influenced by her relationship with her own mother," she says. But while most five-year-old girls love their mothers with an unshakeable conviction, it's often a different story by the time they reach adolescence. The once-adored woman who rarely put a foot wrong is suddenly always doing embarrassing things.</span></div>
<div abp="1147" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1148" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>

<div abp="1152" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1153" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"The time you are going to start having major problems with your daughter will be around adolescence," Hannan says. "Adolescence is a very difficult, tumultuous time for children and their parents, and it tends to happen in girls earlier than in boys."</span></div>
<div abp="1154" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1155" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1156" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1157" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Fortunately this wild swing from closeness to remoteness usually only lasts until the daughter reaches adulthood. "If the mother and daughter can hang in there during adolescence, your relationship moves to a different level and becomes more of a respectful friendship," Hannan says.</span></div>
<div abp="1158" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1159" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1160" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1161" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"I think what triggers them coming back is they become independent ... they move away from home, get a job, do the adult things in life. There's a need to grow up and the relationship shifts."</span></div>
<div abp="1162" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1163" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1164" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1165" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The relationship will change again when the daughter has children. "There's a greater level of understanding of the sort of depth of responsibility that you have as a mother to that child." If you had a less-than-perfect relationship with your mother, it doesn't necessarily follow that you won't have a good relationship with your own daughter, Hannan says.</span></div>
<div abp="1166" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1167" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1168" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1169" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">"It gives you a head start if you had a good relationship with your mother, but lots of women who have had bad relationships with their mothers have had really positive relationships with other women in their lives.</span></div>

Mothers do get blamed an awful lot if something's wrong with their kids. But being aware of things that were good and not good in your relationship with your mum is really important in not repeating any mistakes."</span></div>
<div abp="1174" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1175" style="font-family: Arial;"></span> </div>
<div abp="1176" class="paragraphs paragraph-even" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="1177" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">For most, the mother-daughter relationship is ultimately fulfilling. Despite conflicts and complicated emotions, 80 to 90 per cent of women at midlife reported a good relationship with their mother, a Pennsylvania State University study found.</span></div>

<div abp="168" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="169" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Walking the path of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine, can be likened to connecting with the deeper, soul-based needs and desire whereby we feel an overpowering sense of peace and inner stillness when experiencing the most simple of things. Noticing the first changing leaf that signifies Autumn is on its way, or how the sun's light plays upon a pond surface, the darting of sparrows, or the resilience of that pumpkin plant that is determined to take over my back garden no matter how many times I cut it back. All this subtle things may appear unworthy of any such "spiritual" attention, yet when viewed from such a perspective, they present great insight and wonder. After all, one aspect of the Goddess is Gaea, Mother Earth.</span></div>
<div abp="172" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="173" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"></span> </div>

<span abp="175" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"></span><a name='more'></a><span abp="175" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Allowing ourselves time, even if it is a few moments, to (re) connect with the rhythms of nature can assist us in our deep soul yearning to connect with something that offers us more. Little do we realise that such ways are freely available to us all the time. We do not need to sign up to some expensive online programme that has been well marketed from the other side of the world to get in touch with the Goddess. We just need to stop for a moment, sit down and breathe. The Divine Feminine is all around us - she always has been. She is just waiting for us to realise this.</span><br /></div>

<div abp="178" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="179" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">It does not matter whether we are surrounded by a pristine wilderness or a concrete jungle, the gifts and bounty of the Goddess can be found anywhere, every day and throughout the year. The smell of the earth after a much needed rainstorm, the sunrise or sunset over a city landscape, the twinkling of stars in the midnight skies, the sound of nesting birds, the fragile buds that mark the eventual arrival of Spring. All these things nurture ourselves at a deeper, soul driven level. All these things are gifts to us, reminders that the reach of the Goddess is never far away.</span></div>

<div abp="182" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="183" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">While witnessing a sunset at some ancient temple half a world away may sound romantic and ideal to the senses, it is not necessary. Look around your own local environment for its own sense of wonder and beauty. Seek out your local green space - whether it be a park or garden, sporting ground, or even a neglected parking lot which Gaea is slowly and steadily reclaims what is hers.</span></div>
<div abp="184" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="185" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"></span> </div>
<div abp="186" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="187" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Breathe in the scents that surround you. Feel the earth beneath your feet, the elements on your skin - the soft breeze, the gentle morning shower, the sunlight. Look up at the sky and watch the clouds drift above you. Bear witness to the wild things around you whether it be migrating wildebeests or industrial ants. Take note of your responses. What ignites your wonder and joy? What nourishes you? What makes you feel alive? What gives you delight and even discomfort?</span></div>

<span abp="191" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">Then give thanks, show your appreciation. The practice of gratitude, of being grateful tends to be under-utilised in our modern world, yet when we practice the art of being grateful, we are placing a degree of honour and value on the gifts and "miracles" that Mother Nature, Gaea, the Goddess, is giving us. </span></div>
<div abp="192" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="193" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"></span> </div>
<div abp="194" style="text-align: justify;">
<span abp="195" style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;">The best gift of gratitude that we can give the Goddess is to walk lightly on this earth, to become more consciousness as to our environmental footprint as we go about our normal daily activities, and to reduce what we consume.</span></div>

If there is one thing that I have been forced to learn over the last eight months is that flexibility is the key for you never know when carefully laid plans need to be changed or when new opportunities appear waiting for you to grasp them.</div>

After a restless night the difficult decision was made this morning to cancel to commencement of the proposed <em abp="169"><strong abp="170">Sister Circles</strong></em> that was to commence at the Morella Community Centre in March. While I am still very passionate for this venture to commence, the timing does not appear to be right at the moment.
