The Path of She: Walking with the Goddess

Walking the path of the Goddess, the Divine Feminine, can be likened to connecting with the deeper, soul-based needs and desire whereby we feel an overpowering sense of peace and inner stillness when experiencing the most simple of things.  Noticing the first changing leaf that signifies Autumn is on its way, or how the sun's light plays upon a pond surface, the darting of sparrows, or the resilience of that pumpkin plant that is determined to take over my  back garden no matter how many times I cut it back.  All this subtle things may appear unworthy of any such "spiritual" attention, yet when viewed from such a perspective, they present great insight and wonder.  After all, one aspect of the Goddess is Gaea, Mother Earth.

Chakra Clearing exercise

Looking after our spiritual bodies is just as important as looking after our physical bodies.  In this article by Madisyn Taylor from Daily Om, she looks at ways of how to cleanse our energy centres, the chakras, in order to gain clarity of the soul.

Just as the spaces we inhabit need to be cleared of clutter,
our energetic fields must also be cleared of the old.

Just as the physical spaces we inhabit require that we clear them periodically of clutter, the energetic fields that are a vital part of our being must also be cleared of old thoughts, energy, and emotions. Clearing your chakras and your aura restores and strengthens your connection to yourself and your divine inner wisdom. Unfettered by energetic baggage masquerading as fear, pain, and self-hatred, your consciousness is once again free to grow.  If you find the thought of clearing your energy fields disconcerting, simply think of it as cleansing the energy that surrounds you and releasing any stagnancy. You may not be able to see the results of your efforts, but you will experience a lightness of being and clarity of mind.

Floating Amidst the Stars

The night's sky, in particular Nut as she was known by the ancient Egyptians, has been on my mind as late.  Maybe it has something to do with my recent trip interstate where I was able to marvel at all the stars without them being hidden in the increasing amount of "light pollution" we have in suburbia these days.  Or maybe it is because Nut is one of the 13 Goddesses covered in In Her Sacred Names: Writings on the Divine Feminine which is due to be released by the end of this month and that pre-orders are now being taken.  Whatever the reasoningm this star gazing meditation from Daily Om seems to hit the spot.

Prosperity Charm for the New Year

With the start of the new calendar year, it is a perfect time to start afresh.  The following is a wonderful little charm that can be made to be placed upon your altar or any other place in your home where it can serve as a focal point, or even slip into your bag or pocket to be carried around with you.

Tending Your Own Energy Field

As it has been a while since I shared anything from Daily Om, this article caught my eye especially as meditation nights commenced last Monday evening where discussion around metaphyical topics are also included.

The following article by Madisyn Taylor, entitled "Fill Yourself from the Inside Out - Tending Your Own Energy Field" talks about the Muladhara or base chakra that is located at the base of our spine and is related to our more "primal" instincts - that of instinct, security and survival, as well as basic human potentiality.  Physically, the Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security.

Using Devotional Beads

Triple Goddess Devotional Beads
The use of beads as a devotional tool can be found within many spiritual paths and traditions.  Known by various names, the purpose of using devotional, prayer, mala or even rosary beads is largely the same -that of being a counter when prayers, mantras or chants are repeated.

Sacred Strands is a wonderful site that outlines the use of such beads.

Prayer of Becoming

In sharing the following Prayer of Becoming - I thought I would mention here that this Prayer (or statement), is a simple little exercise you might to perform before your altar or sacred space.

Basically all that is involved is as you speak the words, to think about what you are saying .. how do they resonate with you? Do you actually believe in the words?

If you feel that there are certain words which make you feel uncomfortable or unsure of, then have a go at writing your own Prayer of Becoming.

==================================
Prayer of Becoming

May clarity grow within Me
Open my eyes to life's many Wonders
May I feel the pulse of all creation within Me

Open my spirit to Awareness
Fill my heart with Understanding
May my life be of service to Earth and the Goddess

Open my ears to the needs of those around Me
Make my hands strong & gentle in Your Service
May I remember always, the Goddess works through Me

Breathing in the Goddess

This exercise has been taken from Z Budapest's Dianic University sample lecture.  I personally like it because it helps to make us aware of the Universe, the cosmos around us - not to mention our place within it.

=======================

Hold up your hands to the Heavens and breathe in deeply seven times, each time follow your breath with your consciousness to each part of your body, starting from the head, moving to your throat, your heart, your breasts your solar plexus, to your genitals and finally to your feet. With each breath you are bringing in blessings from the Universe.

Great Goddess Isis

Great Goddess Isis

Exhortation of Isis

You are She in the dust of whose feet is the hosts of Heaven,
Whose body encircles the Universe,
Who turns the Earth in its orb,
Who gives light to the Sun,
Who rules the World.

You tread death underfoot.
To Thee, the stars are responsive,
To Thee the seasons turn and the Gods rejoice
And the elements are in subjugation.

You are She that is the natural Mother of all things,
Mistress and governor of all elements,
The initial progeny of worlds,
Chief of Divine powers,
Queen of Heaven,
Principle of all the Gods celestial and the light of Goddesses.

At Your will are disposed the planets of the air,
The wholesome winds of the seas
And the silences of the unseen world.
