Within many earth-centric spiritual paths, the journey through the seasons is marked by eight specific celebrations, referred to as "sabbats". This cyclic journey is known as the "Wheel of the Year".
In Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats, the author shares her own journey through this wheel from her base in southern Australia. In doing so, she combines traditional seasonal lore with personal experience, history with ritual, all with an underlying relationship to her local environment.
Through looking at our own spiritual practices in order to re-connect with the land on which we reside, Dancing the Sacred Wheel: A Journey through the Southern Sabbats provides invaluable ideas as to how we are able to gain a deeper level of knowledge and understanding of the "Wheel of the Year" through celebrating these seasonal festivals.
